Shoyok Forest

A Shoyok Forest is a dense fungal cluster made up of Shoyok, which define a corrupted zone of the Shiro Network of an Ohnyluh. It is known within Pexyll as a Nightmare Forest.

Due to the nature of a Shoyok, its infiltrating and mutating the code of a fauna- node is not currently filed as a paranatural occurrence by the Shiro Network and thus allows for a continued rise in the Hyphae Harmonics of the growing infected area. The resulting overclocking does not trigger the Ohny Relic capture purge cycle and thus creates a cascade failure, accelerating the spread of the Shoyok which mutates all source nodes. The resulting biomass are the unnaturally tall towers of fungal clusters, which can reach several stories tall.

When Shoyok drop their Sheriamn spores, more Shoyok can infect, mutate and grow across the connected flora- nodes. This can cause a cascading effect across portions of a Shiro Network, which results in a Shoyok Forest.

The high TRPLs of a Shoyok Forest make it a perfect environment for an Arkyne to easily survive and thrive.

Nightmare Forest is colloquial nomenclature used by Pexyll players to reference an AoE such as a Shoyok Forests or other highly unstable area of the Shiro Network that is registered as TRPL 3 or higher on the TRPL scale.

This occurs because altered code, which is generally considered to be unnatural to the intentional design specifications of the Ohnyluh, begin to self-replicate, data corruptions and errors erratically across the tessellate substrate code, which are also known as paracausal cascades. As they grow in height, rate and radius, these paracausal cascades create physical distortions in the Shiro network that can cause among other things, strong auditory and optical hallucinations at low levels of exposure or physical mutation of the Slug and Dijohra, with prolonged exposure.

An exposure index has been created by and for Pexyllers to determine the threat to hazard thresholds in context to their mental and physical sustainability, the functionality and sustainability of devices in relation to the hazardous conditions of a corrupted environment.

There is a significant black market for Ohny Relics and because of this there are many people who risk their lives either entering Nightmare Forest areas or by deliberately overclocking a portion of the shiro network to try and brute force create an Ohny Relic. This often results in an Arkyne being created or an overclock induced fatal systems error of the user.
